ADMISSIONS

Admissions Overview

At St. Andrew’s, our purpose is to empower your child to strive in every aspect of their lives. Since 1951, our school has been providing opportunities for children to excel as individuals through academics, service, and faith.

The backbone of our experience is our community. Relationships matter here. How we treat each other matters. Being a part of the St. Andrew’s family means no child will ever have to walk alone during the triumphs and challenges of their youth.

Small class sizes with a unique, hands-on curriculum give our students the personalized attention and sense of community they need to make their education worthwhile. We will not define a child’s learning by mandated curriculum or state testing. We transform children’s lives by meeting them where they are in their learning. An extensive array of activities - from service learning to athletics - keep our students engaged and excited about their learning.

St. Andrew’s is a joyful place to be. Our Admissions department encourages you to visit our campus and experience the extraordinary culture of St. Andrew’s firsthand. Thank you for considering St. Andrew’s. We cannot wait to meet you!

St. Andrew’s Episcopal School admits qualified students of any race, color, national and ethnic origin or religion to all the rights, privileges, programs, and activities made available to its students. The School does not discriminate in any of its educational, admission, or financial aid policies and programs.

Academic Support

Our Mission

At St. Andrew’s Episcopal School we love and understand children, and we are dedicated to educating the whole child. As an Academic Support Team, we strive to support students, families, and parents as they navigate the academic journey with varied learning profiles. We meet each child where they are so that they can achieve their highest potential.

Our Team

  • Annika Mehta, Primer - 2nd Grade Academic Support Specialist

  • Nancy Campbell, Lower School Coordinator and 3rd - 5th Academic Support

  • Sonya McElroy, Middle School Coordinator and Academic Support

  • Leslie Metzig, Primer - 8th Grade Motor Lab Teacher

  • Dr. Keisha McHargue, Primer - 8th Grade Curriculum Director

  • Our goal is to support each SAES student and family by offering students every opportunity for positive academic growth in and out of the classroom. We work as a cohesive team to accomplish this goal by providing:

A hybrid of direct in-class support, collaborative teaching, and individual or small group pull-out instruction, including the use of our Learning Lab & Motor Lab.

Teacher support for academic concerns related to students on an individualized basis.

Parent support for academic concerns or questions about their child’s academic growth.

Ongoing communication with families, staff, and community to ensure use of best practices in meeting the needs of diverse learners.

Processes and procedures to address academic concerns including observations, progress monitoring, interventions, and recommendations for formal testing needed.

Referral sources in formal evaluation, interventions, and resources needed.

Cohesive team meetings involving parents, teachers, Academic Support staff, SAES administration, and other related service providers to support individual student’s academic growth.

Collaboration with other related professionals in our community to build a strong support network for our school, students, and families.

  • Just as every child is unique, the process to support each student is individualized, but we typically follow a general framework:

    Parent/Teacher concerns and conversations

Observations/Recommendations from SAES teacher & support team

    Outside assessments if needed

Create individualized learning plans to provide goals and support in and out of the classroom
