Supporting St. Andrew's

For more than fifty-five years, St. Andrew’s Episcopal School has prepared the children of Amarillo to lead lives of academic and personal success. We have been able to fulfill this mission, in large part, due to the generosity of parents, alumni, grandparents, and friends who share in the mission and vision of this School.

Tuition supplies only about 80% of the operating revenue required to sustain St. Andrew’s Episcopal School each year. As such, the School supporting1relies upon the Annual Fund, endowment income, special gifts, and other fundraising activities to meet the standard of excellence St. Andrew’s students deserve and expect. Academic excellence goes hand in hand with dynamic, contemporary facilities; superior faculty; and a curriculum that stretches beyond the traditional classroom.

It is our goal to maintain the very highest standard for all that we do here at St. Andrew’s. If you believe in our program, its values, and its importance to our community, we need your support.

Donors have the ability to enrich the St. Andrew’s educational experience in a variety of ways. Please contact Development Director, Susan Severn at (806) 376-9501 if you would like additional information about any of the specific giving opportunities outlined here.

Annual Fund
The Annual Fund directly and immediately contributes to providing competitive salaries for St. Andrew’s gifted faculty, best-in-class technology, enhanced learning materials, and enrichment opportunities such as music, art, service learning, and athletics. (More Information)

Scholarship
One mark of St. Andrew’s success is our ability to attract and educate the best students, regardless of a family’s financial capability. We are dedicated to providing support for qualified students. (More Information)

Parents’ Auxiliary

The St. Andrew’s Parent’s Auxiliary offers vital assistance through generous contributions of time, talent and financial resources. Each year, the Parent’s Auxiliary hosts a variety of fundraising events that allow them to make a generous gift to the School.

Planned Gifts
Planned gifts allow a Donor to retain some aspect of the asset or assets used to make the gift. Planned gifts can include bequests, charitable trusts, and gifts of life insurance, real estate, or other tangible property. Depending on a Donor's personal circumstances, a planned gift may not only provide considerable tax savings, but also may increase a Donor's assets and income. St. Andrew’s Episcopal School is in the initial stages of establishing a planned giving program. We welcome the opportunity to talk about a planned gift that could be advantageous to both you and St. Andrew’s.

supporting2Endowment
Gifts of endowment are personal and important statements of commitment to the future success of St. Andrew’s, and play a critical role in our long-term financial stability. Endowment gifts are held in perpetuity and invested to earn a steady income stream that provides ongoing support for the School.

Capital
Capital gifts, generally to the physical plant or endowment, differ from annual support, which provides 20% of the operating budget and thus is expended each year. Instead, capital gifts allow the School the opportunity to look to its long-term future. As the Trustees look ahead, there are areas that will need to be addressed through major capital gifts. Some of these areas may include:

  • Renovation projects
  • An increase of the endowment — potentially for student financial aid and faculty support — to allow less dependence on tuition increases.

Gifts-in-Kind
A gift-in-kind is a non-cash donation which is used by St. Andrew’s to carry out the School’s mission. When the educational or academic need arises or is foreseeable, St. Andrew’s is thankful for gifts-in-kind which may include computers, software, books, and laboratory or technical equipment.

Memorials and Honorariums
Gifts in memory of a deceased loved one or in honor of someone special (especially in celebration of birthdays, anniversaries, graduation, etc.) can be designated to any of the School’s special funds.

Library
Contributions to this fund expand the holdings of the library collection. A bookplate with the name of the donor and the honoree is placed in each new book.
