National Elementary Honor Society Inducts 11 New Members
On Thursday, March 10, St. Andrew’s inducted 11 Fifth Graders into the National Elementary Honor Society (NEHS). This year’s inductees are only the second class of students to be inducted into this prestigious new organization. More than just an honor roll, NEHS engages its members in service activities and leadership development.

St. Andrew’s is a Founding Chapter of NEHS, and the only charter member in the Panhandle region. As such, St. Andrew’s joins elementary schools around the nation in establishing a program to promote excellence in academic achievement and involvement in leadership and service for the nation’s youngest students.

Congratulations to Sara Bartel, Annelise Coury, Dylan Gilbert, Randall Heck, Alex Hoot, Spencer Howard, Victoria Hutcheson, Emily Merriman, Preston Moore, Rachelle Scharbauer, and Shelby Sticksel for being named as the second class of inductees into the SAES Chapter of the National Elementary Honor Society. These students were selected based not only their academic performance, but also on their behavior both in and out of the classroom. They have demonstrated character, responsibility, and leadership.

The National Elementary Honor Society was established in 2008 with two primary purposes: to recognize students who have achieved academic excellence and demonstrated responsibility in their lives, and to engage those students, through the work of the chapter, in service and leadership development activities. NEHS joins the National Honor Society and the National Junior Honor Society as the nation’s premier organizations recognizing outstanding students who demonstrate excellence in the areas of scholarship, responsibility, leadership, service, citizenship, and character. More information about the National Elementary Honor Society can be found at www.nehs.org.
