On Saturday, October 18th the Lady Broncos BLUE team completed their perfect season by handily winning the 2008 West Texas Christian Athletic Association (WTCAA) Jr. High Volleyball Championships. The championship game, which was played here on St. Andrew’s new gym floor, was the culmination of two days of play and 27 matches by ten teams.
Play began between the ten teams on Friday afternoon and first round games were located at Ascension Academy, San Jacinto and St. Andrew’s Episcopal School. Play resumed on Saturday morning at 9am. The championship match was played between the Lady Trojans from Christ the King, Lubbock and the Lady Broncos from St. Andrew’s, with St. Andrew’s winning the tournament series in two games; 25-16 25-10 . This win finishes the Lady Broncos perfect season: 34 - 0.
And to top it all off, 8th Grader, Abbie Higgins, was awarded the Most Valuable Player of the Tournament. Congratulations to all our Bronco athletes and come join us for a basketball game. Both the boys and girls basketball season gets underway in early November.
