Bishop Ohl Honored by Students As He Prepares for Retirement |
|
Earlier this month, as in years past, Bishop Ohl, came to visit our students and celebrate the beginning of another school year. And is his custom, he officiated at Chapel and toured the School. This time was different for Bishop Ohl, however, as it marks his last official visit to the School prior to his retirement later this fall. After Chapel, the Bishop and his wife shared cake and punch with all of the students and he was visibly moved by their tributes. Some made cards, others shared memories of his time here with them.
Over the years, the Bishop has been an important part of our school. He was here for the ground breaking of the Margaret Teel Building. Last year he came to dedicate the new facilities and every May, he is here to congratulate and bless our graduates.
Many of our older students have grown up with Bishop Ohl. He has known them since they were 5 or 6 and he has seen them grow up here at St. Andrew’s. His kind and gentle way, his smile and his stories will be missed by everyone.
