Alumni Named As National Merit Semi-Finalists |
|
Amarillo High School has four National Merit Semi-Finalists this year---and two of those are St. Andrew’s Alumni (Class of 2005). Congratulations to George Maliha and Jessica Williams. The National Merit Program is an academic competition where more than 1.4 million juniors from over 21,000 high schools participated. These juniors took the Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test. Fewer than 1% percent of this year’s high school seniors have been identified as Semi-Finalists. About 15,000 seniors nationwide will be selected as Finalists in February. Kudos also go out to Sheri AlZeerah and Coleman Carter –both National Merit Commended Scholars and Stephen Irvin Mims – who has been named a National Merit Achievement Scholar.
